During the Digital TV Summit 2017, DICT Chief George P. Tardio has confirmed that government is estimating to phase out analog television broadcast in four to six years. Moreover, TV networks must complete the roll out of digital service before 2018.
There are number of digital TV channels available in the country but the coverage is still lacking in province. It was previously planned to switch to Digital TV only in 2015 but it was delayed due to the technical difficulties in implementing an official digital terrestrial.
